East China University of Politics and Law (ECUPL)“Shangzhong”Cup English Debating Contest on International Commercial Arbitration Moot was successfully held on April 28, 2006.

　　After ninety-minute fierce rivalry, the arbitration moot, constituted with Professor Kay Lauchland from Law School of University of Bond in Australia, and Professor Zhu Lanye and Professor Liu Xiaohong from ECUPL, evaluated the performance of two teams who took part in the contest as the claimants and the respondents respectively, and declared the winner.

　　The contest held by ECUPL, was put into force on citing the task issued by Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot this year. Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot holds once a year, to encourage Law School students all over the world to study international commercial legislation, and to popularize arbitration, which is a commercial disputes resolution mechanism, through the settling of the disputes between virtual parties in the simulative arbitral cases.
