¡¡¡¡In the afternoon of July 22, 2006, the workshop on¡°Arbitration Settlement
of International Commercial Disputes¡±was held by Shanghai Arbitration Commission
jointly with New York University Law School and Shanghai Jiaotong University Law
School. Wang Zude, the deputy director of our Commission, gave a lecture
themed¡°Shanghai Arbitration Moving towards Modernization and
Internationalization¡±; and professor Jerome A. Cohen from New York University
Law School delivered a speech themed¡°Arbitration Settlement of International
Commercial Disputes: Development and Problem¡±
¡¡¡¡There were altogether over 80 people presenting at the workshop and
visiting our office building later on, and they are representatives from
American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai, leading officials and senior
executives of legal affairs sections of some foreign invested enterprises, such
as the Bayer Group in Greater China, Siemens China Group, HP China Group, etc.,
resident lawyers in Shanghai from foreign law offices, journalists based in
Shanghai from American Financial Times and British Reuters, etc. as well as law
school professors and scholars in and out of China. |
